NEW!: 5-day Forecast Animations of Surface Pressure & Precipitation, Surface Temp. & Wind, Air Mass Temperature, Air Mass Humidity, & Jet Stream Winds.

These 10-day forecasts come from the National Weather Service's GFSx (previously MRF) extended-range forecast model. The 10-day forecasts are updated once a day (early morning) and are at 12 hour intervals. The first image is for today at 7 a.m. The 12-hourly interval forecast fields include: (1) Surface Pressure & Precipitation Amounts (seen above); (2) Near-Surface (1000 mb) Temperature & Wind; (3) 850 mb Temperatures, which provides a good measure of the air mass temperature; (4) 850 to 500 mb Relative Humidity, which shows areas of disturbed weather (high humidity); and (5) 300 mb Winds, which gives winds at the jet stream level.
