Satellite image of turbid (muddy) waters in and around Florida 1 day after Hurricane Wilma crossed south Florida. Suspended sediments in the water were stirred up by large waves in the relatively shallow waters. Streaks of darker water can be seen where rivers empty into the ocean. Image was captured by the MODIS instrument on NASA's Terra spacecraft at 10:00 a.m. EDT, 25 Oct., 2005. |
