2005 RECORD WATCH |

With the formation of Tropical Storm Alpha
in the northern Caribbean Sea, 2005 has now experienced 22 named storms,
beating the 1933 record of 21 named storms. This is the first time the National Hurricane Center has run out of names
from the English alphabet; the names now come from the Greek alphabet. (next 2 storm names: "Beta" and "Gamma") |
